**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**POST**: Digital Communications Officer

**BASED**: The Aurora Wellbeing Centre, Old Library and Museum Building, Memorial Avenue, Worksop, S80 2BJ, Bassetlaw. Working from home options available.

**SALARY**: £16,500 (pro rata)

**HOURS**: 22.5 hours

**CONTRACT**: 15 months

**REPORTING TO**: Heritage Engagement Manager

**OTHER WORKING RELATIONSHIPS**: Wellbeing, Beauty Therapy, Tea Room/Charity Shop, Admin and Fundraising Teams

**MAIN PURPOSE**: To create content for the Aurora website and social media channels to raise the profile of therapy services including the Heritage and Health project, that is on brand and in Aurora’s tone of voice. To communicate the link between heritage and wellbeing, showcase wider Aurora activities, attract participants, and celebrate the project. To assist with project evaluation and reporting.

**MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Write content for, and regularly update the website and other marketing materials, communicating clearly and accurately and inspiring action.
- Devise and implement high quality content across available social media channels - organic and scheduled - that raises the profile and maintains the reputation of Aurora Wellbeing using agreed key messages.
- Source, research and write effective and engaging news items and press releases.
- Take a proactive role in identifying new content opportunities and work across teams to shape and create ideas for social media and the website.
- Analyse performance metrics across social media and website, reviewing and updating materials for continuous improvement and optimisation.
- Manage online communities, facilitate conversations and respond to enquiries.
- Build effective webpages using Aurora’s Wordpress that ensure high quality user experience and appropriate data collection.
- Research, update and administrate communications databases.
- Work with staff and volunteers and ensure communications are timely and relevant.
- Offer advice for colleagues on internal communications where needed.
- Act as a heritage project ambassador, attending events and represent the Heritage and Health project where required.
- Seek out opportunities and work closely with external stakeholders and partners on relevant social media campaigns and initiatives.
- Identify and share knowledge of new and emerging social media trends and developments.
- Any other tasks that may be required from time to time, as determined by the Line Manager.

**Qualifications**

Minimum GCSE English and Maths A* - C or equivalent.

Media Studies GCSE or similar

**Experience**

Managing content and users in a CMS.

Demonstrable knowledge and experience of digital content creation and implementing successful social media campaigns.

Proven track record of delivering results against targets and communicating those results in reporting.

Delivering social media activity in support of wider marketing activity.

Public relations experience including drafting press releases and seeking out new opportunities.

Working in the cultural/heritage sector.

Working directly with people affected by cancer and long-term health conditions.

Using social media platform reporting tools and cross-platform scheduling tools.

**Knowledge/Skills**

Excellent written communication skills, including spelling and grammar.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Proficiency and knowledge of all main social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

Ability to work across the organisation’s teams to maximise opportunities.

Ability to manage multiple competing tasks and work well under pressure.

Ability to identify opportunities and proactively improve practices.

Interest local history and communicating relevance and value through organisational social channels.

Understanding the link between heritage and wellbeing.

Good organisational skills and ability to identify and solve problems.
