**CNC Lathe Operator (day shift) - Salary dependent on experience**

Working the day shift, the working hours will be 6.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Wednesday and 6.00am to 11.30am on a Thursday (40 hours per week).

**What is the job?**

The CNC Lathe Operators are an integral part of our production process, manufacturing parts on our lathes to a high quality standard at all times, providing quality products for our customers and an excellent service. As well as working to a production plan, you are also responsible for ensuring manufacturing tools are stripped, cleaned, inspected, rebuilt, and ready for the following weeks production and will be required to assist with tool changing when necessary.

To be successful in this role, you will need good technical skills to be able to operate and programme the Lathes, good communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You also need to be organised and able to work to a plan without compromising quality.

Key Tasks include:

- Undertaking entire CNC machine setups, from an empty machine to an approved 1st off component.
- Cutting tool setup, work holding selection and setting of datums using Renishaw probing, dial indicators and edge finders, as applicable
- Selection and loading of CNC programs.
- Reading and understanding an engineering drawing in full, including all aspects of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Undertake routine maintenance and safety checks of equipment in use.
- Monitor the lathe tooling life as to optimise best quality and maximise tooling and tips.
- Inspect and measure sample batch parts with go/no go and verniers.
- Collate all the parts required to create the finished product (assembly)
- Ensure all products are correct and ready for the warehouse to pick in readiness for dispatch.
- Ensure all batch control documentation are correctly filled out and up to date.
- Support continuous improvement projects within the Operational areas.
- Ensure the accurate and timely recording of quality and OEE data
