DS Smith are currently seeking an experienced pallet management Supply Chain Specialist to join our Procurement division, reporting into the Head of Operations Excellence Implementation.

About the role

The Supply Chain Pallet Specialist will provide functional leadership of pallet management within DS Smith. You will work closely with the procurement and supply chain teams in Group, Division and sub-regions in order to deliver a transformational roadmap and structural improvements in capability and performance in pallet management across the group.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop the Group Pallet Management Strategy, identifying opportunities and pain points across the supply chain.- Collaborate with regional and divisional teams to create a roadmap of short, medium, and long-term initiatives.- Oversee strategic group-level pallet management projects using lean and agile techniques.- Support sub-regional projects to enhance pallet management capabilities.- Integrate best practices and innovations into project plans.- Develop a pallet SKU optimization program for efficient use and procurement.- Set strategies with procurement to manage supplier risks and ensure competitive supply.- Guide regional procurement teams on supplier contracting and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.- Oversee end-to-end supplier market tenders and ensure continuous supplier performance management.- Ensure alignment with sustainability targets and dynamic regulatory policies.- Provide leadership to ensure effective pallet performance management and financial reporting.- Understand market trends and integrate them into strategic plans.- Build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across the supply chain.- Create a community of practice to share best practices in pallet management.

About you:
- Highly experienced in supply chain management, specifically in pallet management.- Strong knowledge and operational experience in pallet management, procurement, and logistics.- Experience in implementing and managing supply chain and pallet management projects in transformational settings.- Experience in transforming pallet management capabilities and performance globally.- Delivery of Results: Proven ability to deliver change and manage competing KPIs with urgency.- Problem Solving: Skilled in using data and analysis to identify root causes and opportunities.- Project Delivery: Capable of managing strategic and tactical projects with competing priorities.- Communication & Influencing: Ability to build and leverage relationships with cross-functional and cross-geographical stakeholders.- Fluency in English; additional European language proficiency is advantageous.- Degree level or equivalent experience.- Proven ability to influence within a matrix environment.
