We are recruiting for determined driven staff to join our apprenticeship scheme who want to make a difference and develop their skills in engineering.

The Challenge:
Part of being an apprentice at Siemens means you get to work on real life projects whilst also being supported on a guided learning journey. This will be a 2 year apprenticeship where you will be put onto the Communication Delivery Standard Level 3.

Here’s how the programme works:
When you join the business, you will be allocated both a line manager and a mentor to support you through your apprenticeship
At the same time you will be signed up with a specialist training provider who will deliver the academic element of your apprenticeship with. To support you, 20% of your standard weekly working hours will be spent studying for your apprenticeship qualification. (20% off the job study time throughout your apprenticeship is still paid for).

Here is what you can make a difference in:
Role of the apprentice Telecoms Installer will be to install, terminate , test and commission new telecoms systems and equipment to industry and Network rail Standards.
The network infrastructure will provide safer more efficient signalling and SCADA systems over the telecoms backbone as well as improvements in security, CCTV and Passenger information systems.
The apprentice will develop the skills required for the installation and termination of copper and fibre cables. Installing, terminating and commissioning new transmission equipment in the railway environment.
Working closely with experienced Telecoms installation staff the apprentice will develop an understanding of the design implementation and testing of the Telecoms networks being deployed.
The apprentice will split learning between classroom and onsite learning to ensure an understanding of the theory behind the network as well as the skills required to install to the highest standard.

You will have achieved or be on track to achieve at least 5 GCSE's including Maths and English.
You think logically, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
You can work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
