**Responsibilities & Main Activities**

**Clinical - all activities require in-house and/or external training which will be given.**
- Perform new patient registration interviews, including registration onto SystmOne, completing any necessary paperwork.
- B.P. monitoring
- Urinalysis
- Phlebotomy
- Chaperoning
- Assist with childhood and adolescent immunisations maintaining any Child Health and Practice records
- Assist clinicians with minor ops including vasectomies, as required
- Perform ECGs, Heights and Weights
- Provide lifestyle advice to the patients making any necessary referrals within the practice
- Ensure specimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessary paperwork completed
- Ensure sharps bins are ready for collection
- Assist in clinic sessions as directed by members of the nursing and medical staff ensuring that all equipment is clean following clinic sessions. Ensure awareness for the appropriate use of sterile equipment.
- Ensure that the drug refrigerator is at correct temperature on a daily basis and drugs are within their expiry dates and used in correct sequence. Order drugs and other supplies as directed ensuring that adequate levels of stock are available in the surgery. Maintain the “cold chain” when drugs are delivered to the surgery.
- Restocking/maintenance of equipment
- Test over the counter urine samples as required
- Perform Fire Marshall duties
- Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms
- Ensure that the clinical rooms are at all times kept in a clean and orderly manner and that relevant equipment is ready for use by nursing and medical staff during clinic sessions.
- To perform diabetic foot assessments once appropriate training received.
- To perform health checks as required.
