**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Post**:
Children and Family contact centre Co-ordinator (Self Employed)
**Main Purpose**:
To organise, supervise, record and assess child contact with an awareness of safeguarding the child
To function as a member of the team carrying out duties and responsibilities required for the day to day running of the service.
**Hours**:2 Saturdays per month - with flexibility of hours during the week (optional, when available)
**Hourly rate**:£12 - potential increase
**Accountable to**:Directors, Management committee and Contact Manager
**Accountable for**:Sessional Workers, Paid and Unpaid Staff, Volunteers
**Key Tasks**:
- To plan and provide child centred supervision of children’s contact to parents, family, friends and carers working with court orders and referring agencies contact decisions.
- To undergo NACCC co-ordinator training when available and complete training when provided
- To ensure that you arrive on time as a back up person you are expected to arrive ½ hour before the sessions take place in the week. (paid time will be session time only) This is to make sure the rooms are clean and presentable for families and also so that the Contact supervisor an come straight in and set up the equipment.
- On a Saturday it is the Co-ordinators responsibility to open the building make sure heating is on in the rooms and that rooms are presentable and clean. The Hall also needs to be set up and include the different areas of play - Social, educational, construction, role play etc
- To sometimes supervise family contact sessions to cover for staff.
- To intervene and act in accordance with safeguarding procedures within your centre and in accordance with those of the Local Safeguarding Board and referring agency.
- To ensure that you that your service is operating within anti
- discriminatory practice by providing a culturally appropriate service.
- To organise, prioritise and manage workload under your own initiative in a creative and flexible approach.
- To undertake all other duties/ responsibilities (as may reasonably be required within) that may arise within the overall job role.
- To ensure that you are the last person to leave the building after having checked that the rooms are tidy, heating/lighting is off, doors are locked, windows are shut and toys are put away correctly. This is no one else’s responsibility but the senior person on duty that day/for that session.
**Job Types**: Temp to perm, Zero hours contract
**Salary**: £12.00-£12.50 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
**Experience**:
- Working with vulnerable families: 1 year (preferred)
- Child care setting/Family support: 1 year (required)
