Out fantastic client is currently looking for a Materials / Planning Controller** **to join their team in Dursley on a full-time, permanent basis.

The purpose of this role is to:

- Plan and coordinate scheduling, material and production planning activities in an effective and efficient manner to ensure that customer orders are achieved on time in full in line with delivery requirements.
- To act as main point of contact regarding production orders and schedules.
- To accurately operate and maintain the MRP system in line with customer and business requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Use MRP (Syspro) system to ensure that raw materials and production consumables are planned, ordered and expedited effectively so that they are ready and available to use to meet the requirements of the production plan.
- Make sure material requirements are monitored/adjusted in accordance with customer demand.
- Make sure key personnel are made aware of any potential concerns from the material suppliers such as delivery delays.
- Make sure efficient and effective material stock control (manage PI system) occurs and that the flow of material is in line with lean principles where possible Scheduling
- Make sure BOM’s are correct and up to date with any material / labour changes
- Coordinate with the site Production Management team on a daily basis to ensure that daily and weekly delivery requirements will be met accordingly.
- Plan, control and coordinate production activities to ensure customer requirements are achieved on time.
- Analyse production process/machine capacities and highlight any potential areas of concern (bottlenecks) in an efficient manner, where possible identifying ways to issues (e.g. amending production plans / running orders).
- Prepare and issue suitable production plans, works orders and ‘work to’ lists for Production teams to follow. Ensure key priorities are communicated to key personnel in an effective manner (e.g. deadlines, special transport requirements).
- Monitor, review and update plans on a regular basis. Ensure any changes are communicated in an effective manner.

**Key Attributes**:

- Previous work experience in Coordination or Planning
- Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work individually or as part of a team

**Hours**: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday

**Salary**: From £30k, depending on experience
