Working within Middlesbrough Council, our team helps those experiencing problems with substance use, domestic abuse and homelessness. We are looking for a passionate, motivated individual to join our Harm Minimisation Team as a Community Engagement Worker.

This role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide outreach support to service users who historically have struggled to engage with services and are considered vulnerable and/or at high risk of harm
- specifically those in minority communities.

You will provide consistent and constructive support to help service users connect and re-engage with services. You will empower our service users to overcome barriers and trauma which have prevented them from being able to engage and/or secure stability.

The duties of this role include but are not limited to:

- Engaging with ethnic minority communities to promote recovery and create pathways into support services._
- Delivering evidence-based psychosocial interventions to motivate service-users._
- Developing new, innovative approaches to the local offer and practices to address emerging and unmet needs._
- Delivering group-based interventions._

Previous experience in substance use services would be desirable but is not essential. If you have transferable skills and are committed to continuous professional development, we would like to hear from you. If successful you will be given training and ongoing support.
