We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced consultancy Project Manager who is ready to take on a new challenge and grow their career. We are looking for a lead for our team of motivated Project Managers, Project Manager Assistants and project controls experts. In this role you would work across our Water Consultancy Division to ensure project management excellence. We are looking for a driven, experienced individual who wants to progress their career, with a desire to evolve within Mott MacDonald.
You will be dynamic, passionate and keen to help us with the effective delivery of projects across the division. Through this role you will be exposed to opportunities to get involved across our business in a wide range of technical disciplines. You will be encouraged to work across disciplines and to forge networks across the business, in order to harness all our talent and expertise.
In this role your time would be split between project delivery, winning work, leading our team and leading on technical excellence for the division.
- Project Delivery: The water industry is booming at the moment, our Water Consultancy Division is one of the leading UK consultancies in the water industry, we work across UK and international projects including major projects such as the Strategic Resource Options in the South East of England. Our team have secured numerous major frameworks and are looking to take on work on a number of additional frameworks in the next AMP cycle. There are exciting opportunities for you to work on major and complex water projects in project manager and project principal roles.
- Winning work: Our team are bidding on major prospects in advance of the next AMP investment cycle. In this role you would support these major bids, ensuring Mott MacDonald process is followed and bids are successfully awarded. You will work with our sub-sector resource managers and commercial manager to set these projects up for success.
- Leading our project management team: Our core project management team has grown quickly over the last two years. In this role you would take on lead line management of the team. You would have responsibility to continue to grow the team in line with project needs. You would be responsible for working with the resource managers to resource the team on projects, ensuring commercial success across the division. You would lead on developing and spearheading our project management career path and mentoring our more junior team members.
- Project Management technical excellence: In addition to our core project management team we have 200 project managers who work in our sub-sectors. In this role you would be responsible for leading best practice project management cross our division. You would provide training, lead on upskilling campaigns, share top tips and work with our senior leadership team to identify and resolve commercial risks.

Required for the position of Project Management Team Lead;
**Required**
- You will have experience of project management of complex or large consultancy projects. You will be an experienced line manager and will be happy to lead and grow a team. You will have excellent communication skills and be happy to lead project management training and information sharing sessions.
- You will have a formal accreditation with a relevant professional institution, such as the Association of Project Management (APM) or an engineering institution.
- Experience in management of water sector projects from a consultancy perspective.
Desirable
- A technical background in engineering or a related field.
