**Soft Skills and Qualifications Needed to Be a Successful HLTA**:

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, teachers, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills, allowing you to plan and deliver engaging educational activities.
- Flexibility and adaptability, as you may be required to work across different school settings.
- Patience and empathy, ensuring you can effectively support students with diverse needs.
- A positive attitude and a passion for education, inspiring students to reach their full potential.

**The Role and Responsibility of a HLTA**:

- Supporting teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, ensuring students are actively involved in their learning.
- Providing one-on-one assistance to students who require additional support, helping them to overcome educational challenges.
- Supervising students during lessons, break times, and off-site activities to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting with administrative tasks such as preparing resources and maintaining student records.
- Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning strategies.
- Conducting assessments and providing feedback to both teachers and students, enabling continuous improvement in educational outcomes.

The minimum requirement for this role is a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification. Specific qualifications are a bonus but not a requirement. The Supply Room now offers in house training through CPD certified online courses for designed for a range of SEN needs. We also provide Team Teach level 2 training during the breaks between terms
