The Best Connection our recruiting for full time roles for our engineering client to join their team in Rochester.

**Type of Position**: Full-Time (46 hours per week)**

***Shift Patterns**: Mon-Thur 6PM-6AM (Nightshift)

***Position Overview**:
As a Factory Operative in the Foundry Department, you'll be an integral part of the production process for aluminum castings. Your responsibilities will include melt preparation, manual pouring of molten aluminum, washing out, and knock out procedures.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare the melt before casting.
- Conduct washout, cleaning molds before casting.
- Present molds for casting.
- Perform casting by pouring molten metal into ceramic molds.
- Handle the takeaway process, moving molds after casting.
- Execute knock out tasks, manually removing ceramic shells from castings.
- Engage in manual handling.

**Health and Safety**:

- Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Possess knowledge of chemicals used, following the department's COSHH assessment and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Maintain a clear understanding and awareness of relevant Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.

**Other**:

- Maintain and clean plant and equipment within the department as needed.
- Uphold the tidiness and cleanliness of the department, following our clients housekeeping procedures, including 5S.
