An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sarcoma service in the CAS division for a Registered Nursing Associate to join the Sarcoma team.

You should have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, a passion for the delivery of high quality, compassionate care, and be able to demonstrate the ability to help change and motivate others. You will be supporting the Clinical Nurse Specialists in delivering care to a case load of patients and being involved throughout the patients cancer pathway.

The post holder will support the Clinical Nurse Specialists in ensuring the delivery of high quality patient/client care upholding dignity, delivered with kindness and compassion.
Actively contribute to an effective learning environment and support others in their learning. The post holder will promote a team nursing philosophy of care.
- triage and action calls, escalating where necessary.
- Support patients with their electronic health needs assessments (EHNAs) and formulate care plan under supervision of the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Provide individual information packs for inpatients.
- Provide basic inpatient support to those undergoing Sarcoma surgery/reconstruction surgery.
- Attend dressings clinics for longer term patients; patient support
- Provide support for survivorship patients - health promotion; signposting; referrals.
- Assist in developing a health and wellbeing event - part of the Macmillan recovery package and in the National Sarcoma Specification.
