Are you keen to join a motivated group of professionals in an acute surgical setting? A great opportunity has arisen on C31, the Surgical Admissions Ward, and Surgical Triage Unit (STU). We are a busy admissions ward and a fast paced unit specializing in emergency surgical assessment. We see Emergency General Surgical, Vascular, ENT and Maxillofacial patients through STU, ensuring they are triaged, assessed and a plan of care put in place.

There will be opportunity to develop your nursing and leadership skills, and a variety of clinical skills as well as enjoying a different challenge every day. You will be involved in the initial assessment process on STU, working alongside multiple different members of the emergency team which ranges from our experienced and knowledgeable CSWs, Nurse Practitioners from the different specialties (Emergency General Surgery, Vascular, ENT & Max Fax), our own nursing team and the surgeons and Consultants.

You should have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, a passion for the delivery of high quality, compassionate care, and be able to demonstrate the ability to help change and motivate others. You will have the responsibility of caring for group of patients with complex needs along side the registered nurse for support and advice.

The post holder will support the Registered Nurse in ensuring the delivery of high quality patient/client care upholding dignity, delivered with kindness and compassion. Provide and monitor the nursing care for a designated group of patients/clients during a care episode. Actively contribute to an effective learning environment and support others in their learning. The post holder will promote a team nursing philosophy of care.
