**Minute taking skills and experience are essential for this role**
A Senior Safeguarding Clerk is required to join a friendly, motivated business support team, undertaking effective minute taking and contributing to the efficient running of the Safeguarding Children Unit. The main task in this role will be taking minutes in child protection conferences using a lap top to record the information within the meeting.
Key responsibilities:
- Arrange Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, Secure Reviews, Complex Abuse Meetings and LADO Strategy Meetings by ensuring invitations are distributed to all relevant people within procedural timescales.
- Attend (either in person or on-screen dependent upon the requirements for the meeting) Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, Secure Reviews, Complex Abuse Meetings and LADO Strategy Meetings to minute (using IT equipment) and produce an accurate record of the meeting discussion. Ensure child protection plans and all minutes from meetings are produced and distributed within procedural timescales.
- Ensure accurate performance data is inputted onto Mosaic (IT system) following all Child Protection Conferences, Secure Reviews and LADO Strategy Meetings.
- Maintain appropriate records on the social care database and adhere to national and LA guidance on confidentiality and information-sharing.
- Liaise with all staff in the Safeguarding Children Unit, Care Wellbeing and Learning, external agencies and service users, in order to ensure a high standard of service continues to be provided.
- Assist the Business Support Coordinator in the monitoring of Business Support procedures.
- Ensure the input and retrieval of information in respect of children who have to a Child Protection Plan or who are in our Care is accurate and up to date to ensure the ongoing provision of a high quality service.
- Maintain and update manual and computerised information systems ensuring information used by the service is accurate and to assist with the auditing of data quality.

**Qualifications**:
- 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above or grades (1-9) or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent desirable.
**Experience**:
- Minute taking skills and experience essential.
- Experience of convening, servicing and minuting meetings.
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Experience of administrative systems and procedures.
- Business support experience in a children and families and young offenders service or health background desirable.
**Skills & Abilities**:
- Able to work on own initiative.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure timescales are met.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet systems.
- Effective written and oral communication skills demonstrating a high standard of accuracy.
- Ability to input, retrieve, collate and present information from computerised and manual systems.
- Able to implement and develop business support systems and procedures.
- Excellent typing skills.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
