**To join a busy accounts department working as part of a team whilst carrying out, and taking responsibility for, several tasks independently**
- Be the main point of contact for the accounts department by answering the telephone and manging the accounts mailbox. Dealing with queries from clients, contractors, tenants, leaseholders etc
- Filing, scanning and mail outs / accounts dept admin as required
- Downloading bank statements, creating cash books and posting income and expenditure daily for relevant accounts
- Reconciling client bank accounts on a regular basis as well as for each year end across the whole portfolio
- Provide annual leave cover for other team members in the accounts department
- Assisting with the preparation of year end packs for external accountants
- Checking invoices, setting up bank payments to suppliers and clients and working as a team on fortnightly payment runs
- Processing internal transactions between ‘funds’ for properties
- Manage insurance payments to brokers/insurers including instalments to ensure they are paid on time
- Manage all utility invoices ensuring no duplicate payments are processed and meters are regularly read with readings updated
- Issue receipts to tenants/leaseholders as and when required
- Schedule up cheques and take to bank on a weekly basis
- Assist with paying clients on a monthly basis
- Assist with reports for clients
- Any other adhoc tasks required

**Qualifications, Skills & Experience**

Essential:

- At least one years’ experience in a busy accounts department
- Ability to work as part of a team but also independently
- Strong administration, communication, and organisational skills
- Strong reconciliation and investigative skills
- Self-motivated individual with sound work ethic and ability to focus
- Excellent Excel skills
- Proactive approach to work with a problem solving mind
- Quick learner

Desirable:

- Be studying towards or hold AAT Level 2
- Experience in a similar role
