This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a hard-working and focused high calibre Medical Affairs (MAF) professional to make an immense difference to patients’ lives in areas of high unmet need within Haem-Oncology.

Janssen has a strong heritage in Haematology Oncology including B-cell malignancies and multiple myeloma. To underline its dedication to developing innovative treatments for these malignancies, Janssen has designated them as Disease Area Strongholds, thereby ensuring they are prioritised within Janssen for pipeline development support and talent recruitment. The Medical Advisor will:

- Report to the respective Therapy Area Medical Lead and will play a significant role in providing medical support to the Haematology franchise, with an opportunity to make a real difference to the therapy area.
- Provide medical leadership in the development of the growing haematology portfolio including current/future assets.
- Collaborate with Patient Access function to optimise market access and reimbursement for our assets by demonstrating scientific and evidence generation expertise internally and with external collaborators.
- Be a therapeutic area scientific expert, responsible for engaging on a peer-to-peer basis with a defined audience of external Leading Specialists and indirectly via the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team with the broader healthcare professional (HCP) base.
- Evaluate all proposals for evidence generation activities against the global development strategy and be an advocate for the UK clinical community.

The Medial Advisor role will be an exciting position involving work at all levels from outset for a commercial minded industry professional with a passion for medical affairs activities.

Janssen office-based positions are operated typically three days onsite and two days from home (i.e., flex-working) at managers discretion.

**Core Functional Responsibilities, But Are Not Limited To**

Therapy area knowledge
- Have good understanding of NHS issues affecting therapy area, including NHS priorities and market access issues/barriers.
- Understand how different data sources contribute to the overall evidence generation plan.
- Help identify data gaps and propose a strategy to address them.
- Conduct literature searches, analyse clinical papers, attend conferences, courses, and other such events to be aware of the latest scientific and clinical advances in relevant therapy areas.
- Identify evolving scientific concepts with future clinical implications.

Customer excellence
- Actively engage with key clinicians, academics, and payers to build a keen awareness of customer needs and to use the insights to deliver projects that are mutually value adding.
- Exchange disease area knowledge and opinions to understand the emerging views on our products for early identification of key opportunities and barriers.
- Increase the customers' understanding of our portfolio and process and to seek their advice on the development of our products.
- Lead and maintain positive relationship with Leading Specialists.
- Understand the needs in evidence generation to support ongoing requirements of therapy area and product.
- Support patient advocacy groups and their initiatives e.g., by responding to interest, gathering insights.

Evidence generation
- Contribute to preparation and conduct of investigator meetings for company sponsored trials, recruitment follow-up and study result presentation.
- Align with R&D and GCO therapy area leads on trial site strategy for company sponsored trials.
- Be UK Lead for field-based Investigator Initiated Studies, Early Access Programs, or Real-World Evidence projects with MSL support.
- Lead field evidence generation projects through Global approval with support from wider oncology MSL team for further approval (i.e., project review panels and systems) and implementation.

Internal collaboration
- Contribute to the development of the haematology assets value proposition in conjunction with traditional Integrated Brand Value Teams (IBVT) / Country Value Teams (CVT) roles, identifying and addressing data gaps to continually strengthen the value proposition.
- Engage with Health Technology Appraisal (e.g., NICE / SMC) submissions and guidelines and drive value and support to health economic teams to gain health care reimbursement.
