Insulation Surveyor

_**INTRODUCTION**_

Smart Energy West Midlands Ltd specialise in the installation of Insulation and Heating Systems in both the ECO & private sectors. Due to continued growth we are recruiting for a motivated individual for a permanent position looking to learn to become a confident surveyor of insulation work ready for install as well as undertake a range of practical tasks. We will be providing training with on going support from our surveying and operations department. We cover all of the UK, there will be a requirement for regular travel and overnight stays.

- **RESPONSIBILITIES**_

This role is critical to our business as the work you do will enable our install teams to complete their job efficiently and improve our customer experience. You will be reporting to our Surveying Manager daily to confirm all work has been completed to the required standard. The day to day roles and responsibilities will include:

- Visiting customer properties to conduct technical surveys for all insulation work. Which includes: cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, internal wall insulation, room in roof insulation, extractor fans & trickle vents, combustion vents and insulated flat roof work.
- At the customer property: Measuring, photographing, producing drawings, plans and install plan to advise our installation team on what has been agreed at site with the customer. Accurately completing our electronic app for the information you gather. Ensuring the customer is fully aware of the planned work and any preparation activity they need to do also.
- Enabling work at customer property: cutting access panels to loft spaces & making good after, drilling holes to inspect cavity, cutting access hatches into floors, installing trickle vents and core holes.
- For complex installs: meeting our install team and customer at site at the start and during the installation work.
- Producing materials & equipment lists for the planned work
- Liaising with other contractors to ensure the site is ready e.g. scaffolders, skip hire and plasterers.
- From time to time you may also support our install teams with their install work
- Supporting our planning team to book the planned work in from site and at our offices.
- Comply with Health & Safety requirements at all times
- Report to the office throughout the day so that we can keep customers informed of when you will be arriving
- Complete daily vehicle inspections
- Daily housekeeping tasks at both customers properties & vehicles
- **QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS**_
- No specific qualifications are required as we will provide full training, however existing qualifications and experience that relate to the insulation industry would be advantageous
- At least 3 years experience of working in a manual/ skilled trade position is required (E.g Carpentry, plumbing, bricklaying, general builder etc). Confident using a wide range of power & hand tools safely
- Comfortable working at height and accessing confined spaces
- Confident customer facing skills are important
- Attention to detail and accuracy of information produced is critical
- Can do attitude, looking for solutions to issues to ensure the work can be completed correctly and safely
- Must be competent with tablets/mobile devices
- Full driving licence with no more than 6 points
- DBS check will be required

Our Head Office is based on the Waterfront in Brierley Hill, Dudley with our warehouse a 5 minute drive away. We have mainly been installing within the ECO (Government Funding) market. - **SALARY & LOCATION**_

£25,000 - £35,000 dependant upon experience and skills
