**Overview**:
Suffolk Local Medical Committee (LMC), the representative body for GPs in Suffolk, is looking for a keen and motivated person to help deliver the diverse and interesting services that the Committee provides to local GPs and practices, supporting the Medical Director and team.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**:

- **Meeting Support**: The Support Officer assists in organising and coordinating meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes. They ensure that relevant documents and materials are distributed to attendees.
- **Communication**: The role involves maintaining effective communication channels within the organisation. This includes responding to enquiries, handling correspondence, and disseminating information to Committee members, GPs, and Practice Managers.
- **Representation**: The Support Officer represents Suffolk LMC at external meetings, conferences, and events. They may attend NHS-related gatherings and provide updates on LMC activities.
- **Support to Committee Members**: The Support Officer assists Committee members with administrative tasks, research, and coordination. They play a crucial role in supporting the LMC’s decision-making processes.

**Qualifications**:

- **Organisational Abilities**: Strong organisational skills are essential for managing office tasks, scheduling meetings, and handling administrative responsibilities.
- **Understanding of NHS General Practice**: A sound understanding of NHS operations, policies, and procedures is beneficial.
- **IT Proficiency**: Basic IT skills are desirable, as the role involves using office software and communication tools.
- **Basic Accounting Knowledge (Desirable)**: Familiarity with basic accounting principles can be advantageous.
- **Interpersonal Skills and Confidentiality**: Good interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality are crucial.
