**Job Role: Early Years Practitioner**

**Position**: Permanent

**Hours**: Flexible
**Reports to: Room Leader and Management Team**

**Overview**:Our nurseries are dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for children in a loving and friendly atmosphere while embedding our ethos of care, nurture, teach.

**Job Purpose**: The role of the Early Years Practitioner is to deliver high quality childcare and take responsibility for monitoring the development of a group of key children while working as part of team and reporting to the Room Leader.

**Role & Responsibilities**:
Childcare
- Plan and deliver high quality childcare.
- Promote our values and ethos to ensure a child-centred, safe and stimulating environment is provided whilst meeting the individual needs of every child.
- Take part in the day to day operational aspects of the nursery in line with policies, safeguarding, Ofsted requirements, local authority guidance, health and safety and equal opportunities.
- Ensure that all aspects of the Statutory Framework for Early Years Foundation Stage and Welfare requirements are delivered to the highest standard.
- Work as part of a team, sharing daily responsibilities and workload.
- Maintain and review the assessment of each child’s progress within the role of the key person.
- Provide exciting and educational experiences for children.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and nursery policies are followed at all times.

HR
- To be a proactive member of the nursery team.
- Promote positivity and professionalism.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Attend regular, documented one to one meetings.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and kept up to date.

Finance
- Support the team to:

- Promote the nursery
- Effective management and use of nursery resources.

Marketing
- Support the team to:

- Proactively support the marketing plan.
- Ensure positive promotion of the brand in the community.
- To be responsible for implementing the Ashbourne House rules in order to maintain high standards and reputation.
- To ensure the image of the company is portrayed in a positive light at all times.
- To advertise the nursery through events including open days and celebrations.
- Build positive relationships with parents.

Facilities
- Ensure health and safety at all times.
- Maintain high-quality equipment.
- Manage the cleanliness and hygiene of the setting in order to maintain the nursery appearance.
- Work alongside the kitchen to ensure EHO standards are kept to a high level.

**Key Skills & Experience**

**Essential**
- Must have an empathy to children.
- Good teamwork and willingness to work with the Ashbourne Support Team.
- Knowledge of Ofsted requirements.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Good team worker.
- An understanding of child development and the ability to recognise and address any concerns.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Eligible to obtain Enhanced DBS Reference and able to provide original copies of required qualifications.
- Two satisfactory references, one must be from most recent employer.
- Willingness to travel to other Nurseries in the Ashbourne Group.

**Desirable**
- Childcare qualification.
- Experience of working in a childcare environment.
- Experience of delivering the EYFS.

**Salary**: Up to £26,000.00 per year
