**Job Summary**
- This is a new and exciting opportunity to support SFC’s health and social care policy work within our Coherent Learning Provision team. _
- In this role you will work closely with internal partners from across SFC, as well as key external partners, on a wide variety of issues - primarily around SFC’s engagement with colleges and universities on provision to better reflect and enhance SFC’s levers in meeting the challenges for the health and social care sector. _

**Job description**:
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead on and/or support (variously) the development of SFC’s educational policy for the health and social care sector, focusing on educational provision in Scotland’s colleges and pathways into employment in the NHS or the social care sector.
- Take responsibility for engagement with key health and social care and educational partners, including working closely with the Assistant Director on SFC’s Joint Action Plan with NHS Education Scotland (NES), ensuring SFC’s policy positions are clearly understood and that there is effective and proactive stakeholder management.
- Work closely across other directorates in SFC providing advice and support in the development of policy for the health and social care sector.
- Horizon-scan and provide advice, support and guidance to internal and external Scottish stakeholders, producing briefings, reports and committee papers as required for SFC senior management and key stakeholders predominately in the area of health and social care.
- Draft and present policy and strategy papers at committee and board level.
- Draft high-level briefings, speeches and other materials for senior SFC staff and board members.
- Represent SFC at external meetings, conferences and other events, including giving presentations, chairing and facilitating discussions when required.
- Provide effective line management to other team members as required.
- Contribute flexibly to the work of the wider directorate and other groups in SFC as appropriate and when required. From time to time, this may include deputising for your line manager or other colleagues.
