Summary Your role is to support the Welcome Manager in the management of the Welcome and Service Assistants and volunteers, playing a core part in providing and developing outstanding customer service. Sheffield Park and Garden has ambitious membershipand fundraising goals, so your motivational skills will be key to build the right environment for this success You’ll lead by example to ensure everyone feels welcome, create an outstanding service culture and support the team to provide wonderful memoriesfor our visitors
**The successful applicant will work across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays as required on a full-time basis (37.5 hours a week), providing full managerial cover for the Welcome Team across the week with the Welcome Manager.** What it's like to workhere Widely regarded as a horticultural masterpiece, the sophisticated landscaped gardens at Sheffield Park are alive with colour and wildlife. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, soyou’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day.
As a Welcome and Service Assistant Manager, it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an outstanding experience for the rest of the day. You'll be managing the welcome team in the day to day ensuring thatthey deliver great service, giving every visitor a warm welcome.
You'll support the team and help to problem solve, turning any challenging situation around and you'll mentor the team to do the same.
You'll work with the Welcome Manager to help to drive our membership and fundraising goals and always look for opportunities to meet and surpass our targets. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’llwork with the visitor welcome team to link everything we do back to our cause and the ongoing work we do. Who we're looking for
- Ideally good practical experience in visitor business, in tourist, heritage or relevant visitor services environment
- Naturally curious about people, and with a passion to and experience of delivering the highest standards of customer service
- The ability to work to sales targets, and confidently sell our membership benefits
- Good organisational skills
- A willingness to learn new skills, and a can-do attitude
- Good IT skills (all MS Office)
- Good understanding of the National Trust and what we do
