**Interview date**: Monday 17 June 2024
**Start date**: Monday 01 July 2024
**End date**:Friday 30 August 2024

**Background**:
Screen Fringe is a collaboration between the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Screen Scotland, to connect creative executives and makers from the film and TV industry with theatre and comedy talent emerging at the Festival Fringe.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe seeks to contract a Screen Fringe Coordinator to support the delivery of key work required for this programme, including events, festivals programme research, communications and delegate support.

Fuelled by the growth of streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon and Apple, there has been unprecedented growth in the production of high-end TV and film content. At the same time, there has been a push for UK public-funded TV and film content to be made outside of London. As a result, creative producers, in the UK and internationally, are hungry for new writing, directing and acting talent, and IP that can be developed into film and TV content. Scotland, and in particular Edinburgh in August, offers an exciting and creatively rich arena in which to forge new connections, partnerships and learnings, and avail of these opportunities.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe is an unparalleled showcase of new talent in theatre, comedy and multi-art performance. Funded by and delivered in collaboration with Screen Scotland, the Screen Fringe project encourages greater Fringe attendance and engagement with Scottish, UK and international film and TV producers; especially those with the financing and creative clout to develop and commission projects, to find new work and pursue opportunities with the theatre and comedy talent on offer in Scotland. The programme will offer support to these Screen Fringe delegates, via access to the Fringe Marketplace platform, show and schedule advice, ticketing support, liaison with venues and talent, and a programme of networking and industry events.

**Responsibilities and Objectives**:
The Screen Fringe Coordinator will sit within the Arts Industry Office, and work closely with the Screen Fringe Producer, Arts Industry Manager and Screen Scotland’s Head of Business & Market Development to:

- Maintain a consistent presence at the Fringe Arts Industry Hub to welcome delegates and deal swiftly with their needs, with the support of the wider Fringe Arts Industry team
- Support the planning and delivery of a programme of networking events and industry advice sessions, both at Fringe Central and in partnership with other August Edinburgh festivals and screen organisations. This may include arranging accommodation and transport for invited guests where needed
- Coordinate team of industry scouts to see and report on hotly-tipped shows
- Support the development and maintaining of a targeted and appropriately categorised delegate list for invitation to engage with Screen Fringe
- Engage with delegates in advance to establish their talent and development interests and needs
- Track and filter relevant work on the Fringe Marketplace platform and gather information on their companies
- Liaise with key venues and their creative/programming teams
- In some instances, view and report on festival shows, both in advance of and during Fringe
- Input to curation of a programme of recommended shows appropriate and ready for potential screen development, identifying rights availability and key talent
- Support the communications about the Screen Fringe opportunity, via regular comms to delegates, updates to a dedicated Screen Fringe webpage and wider promotion of the Screen Fringe offer to industry

The Screen Fringe Coordinator will be an essential part of strengthening how the film and TV industry expertise of Screen Scotland is embedded into the Fringe Arts Industry systems and delegate offer. Ultimately this project seeks to ensure the film and TV industry see the Edinburgh Fringe as a place to connect and engage with new talent and IP for development.

**Key duties of the contract**:

- Review the Fringe programme and associated media with a film / TV lens for promising material and shows, identify Scottish talent, establish potential for adaptation (available rights, representation, appetite from talent, etc), gather press and media buzz about shows, coordinate responses from team of industry responses. This intel will be collated into a manageable database alongside the wider Arts Industry team.
- Facilitate connections between industry and artists through ticket bookings, networking/industry events or brokering one-to-ones.
- Work with Fringe Arts Industry Office to establish what film and TV producers are already accredited with Fringe, covering different genres, and provide system of support and guidance to engage with Screen activity where possible.
- Work with the Screen Fringe Producer and partner organisation teams to deliver networking events and industry advice sessions (creat
