The Medical Illustration team in UHBW are looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Photographer to cover a maternity leave. This role will be fixed term for 9 months starting the 27th June 2024.

Alongside other existing staff the post holder will provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to a team of qualified Clinical Photographers, Trainee Clinical Photographers and assistant staff in Medical Illustration.

The team currently provides a wide ranging photographic and video imaging support to staff across University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, this includes providing specialist clinical photography across the Trust’s divisions, including dermatology, burns, plastics, general paediatrics, clinical genetics, tissue viability and surgery.

The post holder will oversee the day-to-day management of the facilities, including the studio environment and equipment plus outlying areas away from the main base - this includes Somerset.

The post holder will use their advanced knowledge to develop policy, procedures and practice within the department and wider Trust, supporting change, innovation and new ways of working to improve patient care and value for money.

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Medical Illustration to help lead the team to deliver the highest standards of clinical photography, video, and graphics/illustration. Furthermore, the post holder will deputise for the Head of Medical Illustration as required during the working week.
