Our client, an energy service company is looking to take on a Trainee Accountant based in Aberdeen. This is a really great opportunity which will offer a varied and diverse role in a supportive environment.

They are looking for individuals with a grounding in finance with up to 5 years’ experience. The role will support operations and projects whilst also working with the Financial Reporting Team.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with month end accruals and deferrals.
- Analysing all P&L costs to ensure accuracy with coding.
- Reconciling the P&L nominal codes on a weekly basis.
- Issuing budget v actual reports on a weekly basis and discussing this with stakeholders.
- Maintaining high standards of the P&L reporting.
- Assisting with external audit and tax duties.
- Preparing the annual P&L budget.
- Inputting the weekly stock cycle count.
- Supporting the team by providing holiday cover when requested.

**Person Specification**:

- HND in Accounts / Finance or similar (or working towards).
- Will also consider someone qualified by experience.
- Ideally someone with previous experience in similar role.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and drive to take on a varied role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable and have a professional attitude.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and support others.
- Confident to speak to individuals at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate use of own initiative.
