**POST TITLE**:Project Officer

**SALARY**: £29,000 (pro-rata)

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: Chief Executive Officer

**LOCATION**: 5 Atholl Place, Perth, PH15NE (Hybrid working considered)

**HOURS**: 21 hours a week
- With opportunity to increase hours in year 2 and 3 of the project

**CONTRACT TYPE**: Fixed-term for 3 years

**POST FUNDED BY**: The National Lottery Community Fund

**ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION**

As a charity we work closely with people who have experienced psychological trauma and are living with the symptoms of this. We work in partnership with trauma survivors to improve their quality of life through therapy, training and personal development, shaping future services and the understanding of trauma through research projects. We promote a holistic and multi-faceted approach to treating all types of psychological trauma, prioritising mutual understanding and respect of clients, staff and volunteers. As an organisation we thrive to be transparent, consistent and autonomous. We are looking for a person who shares our values and has skills that can contribute to shape a small growing charity.

**THE ROLE**

Trauma Healing together is a charity requiring an organised, innovative, and skilled individual to work with us to support and grow our Resilience Project
- a project which supports trauma survivors to grow and heal through counselling and group wellbeing sessions. We are looking for someone who has experience of developing and delivering group training programmes
- preferably within the mental health field.

**MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop and grow the Resilience Project.
- Organise and plan the logistics for each new cohort.
- Maintain relationships with current partners and working with them to deliver the Resilience Project.
- Develop the group facilitators training programme.
- Train, support, and line manage group facilitators.
- Work with group facilitators to develop resources and improve the Resilience Project.
- Evaluate work and engage in continuous improvement.
- Be responsible for preparing project reports for senior management team and the board.
- Maintain effective communication and relationship with training programme partners.
- Provide trauma training to partners.
- Increase awareness of trauma to the general public and other organisations.
- Develop and deliver our project improvement groups.
- Support the delivery of Trauma Healing Together Vision, Strategy and annual Business Plans.
- Promote Trauma Healing Together and our work to relevant organisations and stakeholders.
- Assist and support other members of the team to deliver tasks where appropriate. As required, assist other teams within Trauma Healing Together
- Maintain effective records and gather data for quality and monitoring purposes.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post and in accordance with the needs of Trauma Healing Together

**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**

**Qualifications**:

- Educated to degree level AND/OR relevant professional qualification or extensive relevant work experience
- Training/teaching qualification or willingness to undertake one.
- Psychological Trauma specific training or willingness to undertake it
- COSCA Introduction to Counselling Skills

Knowledge / Understanding
- Knowledge of trauma and its long-term impacts, including challenges experienced by survivors daily.
- Has good working knowledge of confidentiality and the critical role this plays in providing a safe and trusted service.
- A theoretical understanding of trauma and the neurobiological, psychological, and potential physical health impacts
- Knowledge of mental health third sector organisations working in the central belt.

Experience
- One-to-one support with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Experience of developing and delivering training or group wellbeing programmes
- Working in an emotionally demanding environment/role

- Experience of working within professional frameworks of practice
- Project management
- Line-management experience
- Experience of working in the third sector
