OVERVIEW OF THE JOB

Whether you are an experienced house parent, career changer or grad looking for your first role, at Guildhouse we have the opportunity for you. All our staff go through extensive training that will assist your development into a first class boarding school professional.

House Parents are the team running the boarding facility house where the Guildhouse boarders live. The team is committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of our international boarding students and supporting their success. House Parents get to know students very well in a structure that, whilst informal and relaxed in style, is professional and purposeful in nature. House Parents come from a variety of backgrounds, and are intelligent and stimulating colleagues.

The welfare of our students is of upmost importance and key to the success of our school, our House Parents ensure that success, by looking after students outside of lesson time. You will become a trusted member of the team, helping to ensure our international students have a home away from home and are happy, healthy and safe at all times.

This is a fixed term contract from April to June 2023 with the possibility of developing into a permanent role when one becomes available.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB**
- As part of the House Parent team provide a safe, caring boarding environment that enriches the lives of the students in the care of the College.
- To have a good understanding of National Minimum Boarding Standards (NMBS) and the College’s duty of care for adult students.
- To prioritise the safeguarding, welfare and health and safety of students above all other duties and be familiar with statutory safeguarding and child protection requirements, as well as relevant college policy.
- Under the guidance of the AP(B&IA), implement procedures in the boarding house and proactively evaluate and improve standards of welfare support for students.
