**About The Job**

**Salary**: £43,516 to £46,549 per annum.

**Working Pattern**: Full time, 37 hours per week.

**Contract Length**:Permanent.

**Location**: Chichester, with hybrid working options.

In this role you will undertake project management for the delivery of the annual capital investment programme.

As well as being able to project manage works delivery, you will be required to appraise and challenge design decisions, whilst supporting a team and managing consultants with the responsibility for development and delivery of demanding highways structuresprojects.

You will contribute to the Council's strategic objectives for Infrastructure which involves, working on major capital projects, typically valued around £1m per annum.

You will have direct contact with Cabinet and local members at County, District and Parish levels, alongside government agencies and suppliers of products and services.

**Experience and Skills**

**Key Skills**:

- Advanced analytical skills in order to interpret and manipulate very varied and complex project information in relation to services/programmes.
- Ability to organise, plan / forward plan, meet / set targets, making effective judgements in order to continuously develop and review the effectiveness of service and staff to meet objectives/deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to deliver a demanding project management service.

**Qualifications and/or experience**:

- Degree, or equivalent qualification or significant experience in Civil Engineering, with a focus on highway structures.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of providing professional/specialist advice on developing and implementing projects, with the ability to effectively manage the project process.
- Experience in supervising staff, contributing to the development of an effective team.
- Financial management experience with developed numeracy skills and experience of having had accountability for large budgets.
