We are looking to recruit someone with a strong interest in science and technology, perhaps wishing to embark on a new career in SHE, or an early career SHE Adviser, based at Daresbury Laboratory in Warrington, Cheshire.

This is a busy, varied and exciting role working closely with all departments giving great opportunities to use and develop your skills to make a difference to UK science.

**List of duties / work programme / responsibilities**
- Providing SHE guidance to all stakeholders and supporting their compliance with STFC’s SHE policies
- Assist in the development and implementation of STFC’s SHE management system
- Work and liaise closely with key partners in SHE Management
- Assisting with radiation safety management as a Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS)
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of particle accelerators
- Assist in the development of Microsoft 365 smart app collaboration tools, encouraging others to adopt new ways to work efficiently

**Essential shortlisting criteria**:

- A strong and demonstrable interest in technology and a constantly curious mind, committed to supporting world class science at STFC
- A keen attention to detail to ensure regulatory and STFC requirements are met
- Strong communication skills (written and oral), able to build positive working relationships with colleagues
- Team oriented but able to work unsupervised, be self-motivated and effectively problem solve as required
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 software and interested in learning how to use other programs
- Available to work flexibly, including occasionally out of normal working hours or weekend working or telephone contact
- A recognised health and safety qualification (for example NEBOSH General Certificate), or is committed to completing this qualification within 6 months of appointment
- Right to live and work in the UK, and travel abroad.
