The Technical Assistant function at Handmade is working within the technical team providing advice relating to scientific, technical and legislative issues. Their key responsibility is to support the team and business in understanding current food safety laws and packaging requirements. Key responsibilities of the job are as follows:

- Day to day maintenance of quality systems and procedures ensuring compliance to BRC and customer standards
- Review and approve packaging details and artwork. Ensure legislative are met
- Have experience of using customer portals
- Develop and maintain Technical databases and spreadsheets
- Train, develop, coach and motivate staff on various procedures and policies within various departments
- Support the QA and Spec Tech teams on queries
- Assist as and when with updating supplier information
- Lead traceability exercises
- Update and monitor document control
- Monitoring of calibration and scheduling of equipment on site
- Monitor all results received from external laboratory and action accordingly raising NC if any results are out of specification. Request results if they haven’t been received within correct time frame
- Investigation of customer complaints ensuring responses and corrective actions are completed.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
