We’re looking for someone who is passionate about social media, keeps up with the newest trends and has strong knowledge on how utilise content across Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and as part of a larger team, but able to take on some projects and work independently when needed. You will be organised, providing a weekly schedule for posts and have a keen eye for detail, as well as ensuring all posts are completely accurate and well written, so that errors do not slip through onto our feeds.

As a scientific organisation who speaks to both professionals and the public, you’ll work with the wider content team to ensure our social content is presented in a simple, accessible and interesting way.

**Person specification**:
This role will also be responsible for providing some social listening reports and keeping a moderation schedule across all channels to help us combat mis-information, with support from the content officer.

You’ll work with social counterparts from the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS as well as other Government departments to share content plans and ensure we are joined up on the areas we need to be.

We use Sprout Social as a management platform and while experience is welcomed it isn’t necessary, as training can be provided.

There will be opportunity to help shape some of our content and feed into the planning and creative processes. The content and marketing team is a busy and friendly team and sits within the wider communications directorate, made up of press, internal communications, external affairs and strategic communications.

Social media tasks
- Provide the schedule for posts each week and manage the posting and scheduling across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Check all posts for accuracy and ensure all posts are accessible, using in-platform alt-text tools.
- Manage the social listening report, working with the content officer to produce a succinct daily report and some specialised reports on request
- Moderate our posts, with help from the wider team, ensuring that trends on misinformation are passed on as relevant to the wider comms team.
- Feed into the content planning and creative processes to give a steer on which channels can be used for certain content and how best to present this.
- Manage the Sprout Social account.
- Work with the wider team to lead on social media training and give advice to colleagues across the organisation on social media use for UKHSA matters when necessary.

**Resource management**
- To ensure colleagues within the Communications directorate and staff across the wider agency have a prompt and effective social media service.
