Directorate: Finance & Customer Services

Permanent, Part time, 18 hours per week.

This is an exciting time to join our Customer Services team at Rotherham Council. The way we deliver our services is changing - our customers want to be able to 'self-serve' at any time of day or night and have access to what they need at their fingertips. We are working hard to make this happen, delivering high quality customer service to a wide range of people with differing needs and preferences 24/7, 365 days a year.

Regardless of how our customers chose to contact us, (telephone, face to face or online) we want to ensure that everyone experiences the same excellent service.

We are looking to recruit to our Out of Hours team who provide an emergency response for Council services. Cover is required from 8pm to 8am Monday to Friday and from 8pm Friday to 8am on Monday, including bank holidays. Each shift spans 6 hours, flexibility is required to cover additional shifts as the need arises to support leave and absence.

You will be an excellent communicator and confident in managing expectations of an emergency service to customers

Above all you will be passionate about our services, our ambitions and most importantly our customers.

We operate within the Council’s hybrid policy, offering a flexible approach to working with the option of working between our Riverside House office and home.

We provide you with full training and 22 days per year annual leave (pro-rota for part time hours).
