Sellick Partnership has been assigned to recruit on an exclusive basis a Finance Manager for a well-established, profitable, international branded business based in Lancashire.

A result of an internal promotion, this role will report into a forward-thinking Financial Controller and offers a huge opportunity for progression and development throughout the business.

This role will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a small Finance team whilst continuously striving to make improvements to processes within the team. The overall purpose of the role is to ensure a robust internal controls environment and periodand year end reporting to Group. The role will give exposure to all aspects of the business and have regular interactions with the Finance Director. Building strong relationships will be key to success in this role.

General duties include:

- Timely and accurate period and year end reporting including:

- Preparation of group consolidation
- Review of journals, balance sheets and period end packs prepared by team
- Maintaining the accuracy and robustness of the UK balance sheet
- Management of the group's FX risk exposure process across various currencies and accounting for derivatives under hedge accounting
- Review of the monthly VAT and other indirect tax returns in UK, Ireland, Poland and Canada
- Review of the statutory accounts for UK entities under FRS101 (IFRS)
- Take a leading role in the group's Internal and External audit processes
- Managing and supporting the development of the Financial Reporting team (two direct reports). Your leadership of this team will be underpinned by strong people management skills and a proven track record of successfully managing and developing individuals.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities in the UK business and sharing best practice across the other international hubs
- Maintaining key relationships with other finance teams within the group
- Interacting with a range of internal / stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner, being mindful of your team's PR to the UK and International Finance teams and wider business.
- Playing an active role in supporting the Finance Controller to 'bridge the gap' between the Transactions and Reporting teams, championing effective ways of working.
- Ad hoc projects e.g. UK SOX, technical accounting changes, new business set-ups, ERP
- Remaining calm and resilient in the face of adversity, you will be comfortable at navigating a high degree of complexity and ambiguity without the need to draw on others for answers.
- You will be solution focused and have an internal bias to 'getting things done' whilst not cutting corners against our internal standards and controls.
- Able to 'cut through' quickly on the tasks and issues that are impacting ways of working and implement short-term solutions that will make the team more efficient and effective.

You will need to be confident working with a diverse range of people and cultures and have excellent communication skills. We are looking for someone with sparkle, drive & energy to come in and really drive some significant improvement.
