**Role Profile**

This is an opportunity for you to join an established charity that has an excellent reputation locally as a trusted partner and as a great place to work. Your role will be to lead a programme of activity that aims to change the way that mental health care is delivered in our community.

You will play an important role, working with people who access mental health services, the wider community, and key stakeholders across North Lincolnshire as part of the Community Mental Health Transformation. Co-production is integral to the role. You will provide expert support, information, and leadership throughout this process. You will draw on your experience and that of others to inform and influence the Community Mental Health Transformation.

You will work with individuals who access mental health services to understand their needs and help shape the future of mental health provision. You will let mental health service providers know when things have gone well, as well as when they haven’t got things right, so providers can learn and improve their service. You will also build effective links with voluntary and community sector organisations to increase opportunities to improve mental health support locally and enable more innovative approaches to supporting people with mental health problems.

You will be part of a small, but committed team with big ambitions that works cohesively and effectively together to get things done. You will be an important and valued member of the team and, with the support of Citizens Advice North Lincolnshire, will be responsible for ensuring people focused outcomes are met in a pressurised environment.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Contribute to the Community Mental Health Transformation, providing an expert viewpoint, using your own and other people's lived experience
- To recruit and coordinate people with lived experience to take part in engagement activities and plans
- To provide ongoing day to day support and guidance as required to people with lived experience to enable them to effectively be involved in coproduction and engagement activities
- Work alongside people with lived experience and the internal communications teams, to produce a range of communications materials in easy read format to ensure people with lived experience are kept informed of the progress
- Support the Patient Experience and Involvement Team at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humberside NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) and the Community Mental Health Transformation steering group to implement a comprehensive engagement plan and co production activities
- Maintain knowledge of current NHS guidance in relation to patient engagement, involvement and participation and develop additional procedures that may be required to support the programme of work
- To support the Community Mental Health Transformation programme in developing effective relationships with key stakeholders involved in coproduction and engagement
- To provide and receive information to and from people experiencing mental health problems, their family and their carers in order to ensure the effective use of mechanisms for obtaining feed
- back on local health services, taking into account barriers to understanding
- To develop relationships with the voluntary sector alliance and wider community and voluntary sector and statutory partners
- To deliver presentations and briefings about the project and contribute to the overall development of the service
- To record and collate statistical and other information and data, reporting on activity and outcomes and ensuring effective qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation of the service
- To meet individual performance targets and contribute to the achievement of team targets
- To represent the organisation in a knowledgeable and professional manner at all times
- To identify your own training and development needs and participate in training opportunities
- To refer safeguarding issues in line with local and organisational policy
- To adhere to organisational policies and procedures relating to health and safety, risk and personal safety
- Carry out any other tasks that may be within the scope of the post

**Person Specification**

**Essential Criteria**

Past, present and or current lived experience of accessing mental health services either as a service user or as a carer or advocate

Ability to engage people in a way that inspires trust and confidence

Knowledge and understanding of mental health service and the current challenges

Knowledge and understanding of health and social care and voluntary and community sector services and current challenges

Knowledge and understanding of the wider determinants of health and health inequalities, especially in relation to individuals experiencing severe mental illness

Knowledge and understanding of change management

Strong written skills and ability to draft clear and concise reports and
