Hailsham, United Kingdom SDR Full time

SDR Care is a growing business with care homes situated on the South Coast. We pride ourselves on investing in our people. We are committed to the UK Living Wage Foundation; we train and develop our staff to enable them to reach their full potential and we are a collaborative and supportive team.

Opportunities exist to join and develop a new team of Complex Needs Support Workers to join our team in Hailsham. The home will specialise in person-centred care of people with learning difficulties and autism.

Applicants will have experience of working in a similar environment. You will be enthusiastic, an effective communicator, have high standards, and be sensitive to the needs of people with learning disabilities.

Initially, you will be providing support to just one individual living in their own supported living home. They have some challenging needs and training will be provided to enable the team to support them in a proactive way; delivering a PBS model of support, and understanding that all challenges are a form of communication.

It is likely that we will be recruiting 3 night staff to work a rotational shift pattern. Part-time hours would be a minimum of 20:30 hours (2 nights per week) or 30:45 hours (3 nights per week) to ensure consistency for the service user/s.

Can you:
Provide a customised, responsive, and high-quality service to a person with Autism and sensory needs?

Are you:

- passionate about providing the highest quality of care
- aspiring to work with an innovative care business
- caring and supportive person
- able to work independently as well as part of a team
- aspiring to grow your career
- preferably a driver with a Full UK Driving Licence
- resilient?

**What do we mean by resilient?**

Simply put, resilience is the ability to cope under pressure and recover from difficulties. A person who has good resilience will cope well under pressure and can bounce back faster than someone whose resilience is less developed.

What does resilience look like? If you are resilient you will:

- understand and value the meaning of what you do
- be capable of greeting new situations, people and demands with a positive attitude
- take a problem-solving approach to difficulties
- keep a sense of perspective when things go wrong
- be flexible and willing to adapt to change
- be able to draw on a range of strategies to cope with pressure
- be able to recognise your thoughts and emotions, and manage them well
- take responsibility for your own behaviour, including mistakes
- be willing to persevere when the going gets tough
- recognise and respect your own limits, including what you can control and what
you can’t
- ask for help when you need it

In return, you can expect:

- a salary of £20,972 pro-rata, equivalent to £10.90 per hour (reviewed annually)
- double pay for bank holidays
- an annual bonus based on company performance
- the equivalent of at least 29 days holiday (including bank holidays).
- a company pension scheme where eligible
- group life insurance of 2x salary
- wellbeing benefits
- a collaborative and supportive induction process
- continuing professional development
- support towards achieving your Care Certificate, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
- in house specialist Autism training
- Company sick pay (following a successful probation period, for permanent contracts)
- to both receive a £200 bonus if you refer a friend or ex colleague to work for SDR Care

Your required skills and experiences:
We will need most of the team to have a full UK license and you must be willing to drive a service user’s own vehicle.

Experience and/or understanding of supporting individuals with autism and complex needs.

It is important that we recruit the RIGHT team members for this role, and we will be organising a rota primarily to suit the service user. We will be supporting the service user 24/7 and envisage the following shift time will apply:
Nights 21:45-8:00

**Our Values**:

For colleagues, residents, clients, partners, investors and the communities that we work in. We give respect wherever we go and hope to earn it back.

Innovation
Ideas are encouraged at every turn in order to drive the efficiency and experience of the business.
