Senior/support Worker

**SDR Care** is a growing business with care homes situated on the South Coast. We pride ourselves on investing in our people and we are committed to the **UK Living Wage Foundation**. We aim to continuously train and develop our staff to enable them to reach their full potential within our collaborative and supportive team.
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our new team of **Senior / Support Workers** at our home in Hailsham, where you will be working with residents with Complex Needs. The home will specialise in person-centred care for people with learning difficulties and autism.
The individual you will be working with has a fantastic and silly sense of humour; they love to make people laugh. They also love the outdoors, so you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Sussex countryside and getting out and about in their car, as well as playing ball games and having picnics. Working with this individual will be incredibly rewarding, as we help them on their development journey.
We are looking for people that have experience and/or understanding of supporting individuals with autism and complex needs. **You must hold a current, valid full UK drivers licence (and have held it for a minimum of 1 year)**. You will be a great addition to the team if you enjoy working and interacting with people, have the right personality and share the same values as us. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, effective communicators, with high standards of care, and who are sensitive to the needs of people with complex needs.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who could develop their confidence to take on more responsibilities, such as running and managing shifts, while providing high levels of person-centred care.
You will, initially, be providing supported living to one individual. The house will eventually have several residents at the property. They have challenging needs and behaviours; however, full training and support will be provided to enable the team to support them in a proactive way delivering a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) model which highlights that all challenges are a form of communication.
Working hours are **39.25** hours (full-time)** per week, on a rotational shift pattern. This will be a varied shift pattern including weekdays and weekends; a flexible approach to work is essential. You will be required to work occasional sleep-in shifts (_a minimum of 1 per week_) for which we pay **£50 extra **per night.
Part-time could be considered for the right applicant, this would be a minimum of **22.75** **hours** to ensure consistency for the service user/s.
It is important that we recruit the **RIGHT** team members for this role, and we will be organising a rota primarily to suit the service user. We will be supporting the service user **24/7** and expect the following shift times will apply:
**Early **07:45-15:00
**Late **14:45-22:00
**Sleep in **22:00-08:00 (_start at 06:00 to support with personal care_).
**Our Values form an integral part of our business and as such we would seek applicants that can demonstrate**:
**Kindness, Dignity & Respect**
Integral to the culture of our Company; treat people with kindness, dignity, and respect then our work will be rewarding and fulfilling.
**Calmness**
Every decision we make is better when made with a calm and composed approach; calmness helps us to manage the challenges and demands we face.
**Creativity**
Embrace creativity to find innovative solutions in our work.
**Responsibility**
Take responsibility for our own actions, attitude, impact, and career development.
**Can you **provide a customised, responsive, and high-quality service to a person with Autism and sensory needs?
**Are you**:
- passionate about providing the highest quality of care
- a caring and supportive person
- able to work independently, as well as part of a team
- aspiring to grow your career
- a driver with a Full UK Driving Licence
- resilient and calm
**In return, you can expect**:
- a salary between **£26,624** and **£27,810** for the full-time position (_which is reviewed annually_)
- sleep in shifts paid at **£50**_ _**extra** per night (_the possibility to earn an additional _**_£2,000 - £4,000_**_ extra per year depending on the number of sleep ins you can do_)
- double pay for working bank holidays (_triple for Christmas Day and New Year's Day_)
- the opportunity to earn annual bonus, based on company performance
- the equivalent of at least 29 days holiday (_including bank holidays_)
- a company pension scheme, where eligible
- group life insurance of 2 x salary
- wellbeing benefits
- a collaborative and supportive induction process
- continuing professional development
- support towards achieving your NVQ qualifications in Health and Social Care
- in house specialist Autism and PBS training
- Company sick pay (_following a successful probation period, for permanent contracts_)
- a** £500** bonus each, if you refer a friend
