The post holder will provide effective clinical audit support and establish systems to ensure that the OOH Service audit, quality and governance data are managed, and appropriate reporting and clinical governance support processes are developed to evidence delivery of high quality, effective clinical services. The post holder will provide a comprehensive range of administrative and support duties during normal working hours (Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm) in respect of the primary care Out of Hours service, support and develop the service’s IT systems and communications networks, oversee the collection of data and other process tasks within the office. An IT degree and extensive experience of working with database systems is essential for this role.

The post holder is required to support, communicate compliance and would participate in supporting implementation with the senior Management Team. Carry out other administrative duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the Out of Hours service. Be responsible for managing and prioritising own workload in order to meet strict deadlines.
To work autonomously within the IT/Clinical Governance knowledge and skills framework. Works independently and is managed rather than supervised. Makes proposals on IM&T systems, reports on and implements training policies e.g. advises on procedures for the use of new IT systems, e.g. Adastra/SALUS, develops SOPs for Shift Supervisors to follow out of hours and devises help sheets for staff to use new equipment in the out of hours period.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:
**Four main hospitals**: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
**Seven community hospitals**: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
48 general practices (five of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

**Further duties include**:
Monitor and update the Out of Hours patient database to ensure effective and accurate collation of patient information.

Determine and implement appropriate ways of improving data and information analysis and presentation.

Provide daily reporting to the senior management team after analysing:

- Demand v Capacity
- Case Types
- Options for Service Development in relation to IT solutions and adherence to Clinical Governance.
