The Physiological Sciences & Healthcare Science Network Project Support Officer will work with the Project Manager and other Diagnostic Physiological Sciences & Healthcare Science Network team colleagues, and wider stakeholders to support the establishment of a L&SC Physiological Sciences & Healthcare Science Network by March 2024, and support the delivery of projects and priorities within the Diagnostic Network programme of work.

The Project Support Officer will be responsible for tracking and reporting performance in terms of key project milestones, quality and finance. The Project Support Officer will support the co-ordination of regular project reporting using relevant templates and documentation.

You will develop collaborative day to day working relationships with members of the project teams, operational teams and stakeholders such that members can count on reliable and knowledgeable support and information.

Established in 2003 East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT) is a large integrated health care organisation providing high quality acute secondary healthcare for the people of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.

1. Responsibility for Patient Care

Support projects and programmes that improve patient care and outcomes

Check that a Quality Impact Assessment (QIA) is completed for each project that requires one

2. Information Resources

Assist in the production of written and verbal update reports as required, along with assisting in the production of performance reports and presentations as required.

Maintain the central tracking system to system to enable the Project Manager to report progress to the Accountable Executive and/or Operational Lead on a regular basis.

Check that all project documentation is completed to required standards and in a timely manner.

Support the Project Manager in meeting with the Network team to discuss the progress, issues, risks and interdependencies.

3. Communications and Leadership

Develop collaborative day to day working relationships with members of the project teams, operational teams and stakeholders such that members can count on reliable and knowledgeable support and information.

Support the Project Manager in maintaining an appropriate balance of challenge and support the team in the development of project plans and tracking of activity against plan.

Assist the Project Manager/Diagnostic Physiological Sciences & Healthcare Science Network Senior Managers in supporting/leading/presenting to project groups.

Support the Project Manager/Diagnostic Physiological Sciences & Healthcare Science Network Senior Managers in implementing communication strategies.

Champion the programme

4. Planning and organising

Assist the Network teams and work streams on a day to day basis in identifying and managing project issues, risks, dependencies and change.

Assist in developing and updating the project plan on a regular basis.

Assist with monitoring the progress on a regular basis against key milestones, along with where targets are not being met, or are identified as being in danger of not being met, assist the Project Manager in monitoring the implementation of the remedial plan.

Assist in the co-ordination and preparation of meetings, as required.

Support designated projects/meetings, including preparing resources, minutes, action notes and progress issues using own initiative.

5. Partnership working

Foster collaborative working relationships with teams, departments and system partners sharing best practice and identifying any potential areas for collaborative working.

Where appropriate, engage and maintain links with all clinical and non-clinical stakeholders and the wider stakeholders within the network.

6. Analysis and data management

Work closely with the team to ensure performance data is provided within the mandated timescales for reporting.

Assess the robustness of data that forms the basis of reporting and ensure data analysis for projects is sufficient and will pass scrutiny.

Assist in the preparation of regular comprehensive project monitoring reports as required.

Maintain the relevant project documentation as required

Responsible for taking and transcribing formal minutes of project and work streams meetings including responsibility for maintaining action logs as appropriate.
