This includes:

- Joining a dynamic team to respond to client’s emerging challenges regarding net zero and what it means for them, assisting with the transition and embedding operational and embodied carbon and climate change issues within decision making;
- Understanding and communicating net zero carbon policies to clients, in support of them setting their own ‘net zero carbon’ aspirations and developing action plans to meet defined outcomes;
- Leading senior stakeholder engagement internally and externally for decarbonisation projects, helping translate complex problems into tangible action and change management;
- Support business development related activities, identifying opportunities/prospects to allow us to prepare/position the team to produce winning proposals for other work;
- Collaborate with other teams within Mott MacDonald to deliver a one team ethos and approach to delivering and embedding operational and embodied carbon management and climate resilience within future services;
- Help developing of decarbonisation strategies and action plans, alongside developing appropriate processes for clients to help implement their decarbonisation ambitions and requirements;
- Help lead and prepare bid submissions, as part of frameworks or individual tenders;
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget in line with Mott MacDonald’s commercial and financial requirements, while ensuring client expectations are met;
- Support the wider advisory and technical design teams in developing and delivering projects from inception to handover and completion; this will include scheme definition, feasibility studies, design development, procurement and contract administration.

There will be a mix of long-term and short-term projects nationally and internationally, and it can be expected to support the wider Mott MacDonald businesses to grow and develop our sustainable cities and decarbonisation offerings, working closely with the global Mott MacDonald carbon management and sustainability community as well as the Advisory discipline.

- What we would like to see from you:a proven track record in delivering and overseeing a range of advisory or engineering services;an attitude and desire to help clients on a journey towards alignment to net zero legislation, embedding a response to the climate emergency within the principles of decision making;a good personal network within the area of expertise;strong communication skills and a track-record in a client-facing role;business development and technical quality (e.g. demonstrated through papers/presentations and work winning);evidence that you are committed to personal knowledge development within the field;project management / direction for multi-discipline projects, ideally within the built environment design and construction market;
- Desirable:
well-rounded knowledge on wider sustainability and climate change issues;professional chartership qualifications or equivalent;experience working with estate and asset managers;knowledge of legislation and policy influencing carbon and climate change;experience line managing people and working in diverse teams;
