Elevation Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a fantastic business in Sheffield. They are looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

Main Duties include:

- Responsibility for overseeing the general administration of the day to day financial systems
- Contributing to the formulation of the financial policies, procedures and systems
- Ensuring that all financial transactions and controls are operated in accordance with legal & statutory requirements
- Supporting and monitoring the Finance Officers to provide training and guidance as necessary
- Highlighting any shortfall in advised profile income
- Posting of relevant journals including Income, Intra-MAT and payroll
- In relation to salary transactions, independently reconcile the BACS and payroll totals advised by the businesses procured payroll provider, working with the HR officers to investigate any variances
- To monitor and record income and expenditure for central services, including intra-mat charges and claims
- Maintaining up-to-date records of pre-payments and accruals as required in the year-end accounts formulation
- Assisting the Director of Business and Finance Manager in constructing the annual budgets
- Producing periodic budget reports for Senior Leadership colleagues and the Board of Directors
- Liaise and work with other staff across the business to ensure consistency in all internal and statutory reporting and processes
- Monitoring departmental expenditure within delegated budgets, and prepare budget information and reports from the financial management systems as required by the Director of Business & Finance, Finance Manager, Senior Leadership Team, budget holders and others requiring financial information
- Carrying out month end procedures with the Finance Officers, including reconciliation of bank, control accounts, petty cash and credit card statements
- Dealing with internal and external audit of the financial systems and records of the Trust
- Production of VAT return information for HMRC in conjunction with the Finance Manager

You must possess the following in order to be considered:

- Ability to be self-motivating, innovative and work without supervision
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload
- Good computer skills with a focus on Excel
- Previous Experience is essential
