Acorn Recruitment is searching for a Senior Buyer to join our client, a manufacturing business in Runcorn, Cheshire.
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, and working closely with the Senior Management Team, the purpose of the role is to source, negotiate and procure materials and services to meet the company operational requirements in line with company objectives, takinginto account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.
Duties will include:

- Contemporary best practices for the procurement of materials, equipment and services.
- Supplier selection, using benchmarking and evaluation tools.
- Purchasing policies, regulations and fundamental processes.
- Employment of strategies to reduce cost and improve supplier service level.
- Business acumen and proactive approaches to continuous improvement.
- Provision or market intelligence using monthly reporting to inform risk, opportunity, an potential prompts for end-product commercial price management.
- Risk management and agile secondary supplier strategies.
