**The Company**:
Our client is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers in the nutritional industry and have an annual turnover of circa £80m. The company employs over 350 people on site and has an excellent track record of growth and ambitious plans for future expansion.

The business has been operating for over 200 years and has built a strong reputation as a market leader with several premium brands in their portfolio and a large, diverse client base operating throughout Europe.

We currently have an opening for a Senior Buyer based in Runcorn.

The Senior Buyer will support business growth and help define and implement procurement strategy. The primary focus will be on any new or renewed business opportunities, covering a broad range of expenditure but predominantly raw materials, packaging and logistics. This Senior will report to the Procurement Manager and give support and guidance to the Procurement team.

**Key tasks include**:

- Benchmark and source across multiple categories of spend and manage supplier relationships to develop solutions in line with business objectives.
- Identify and grow opportunities to add value, customer delight and mitigate cost.
- Present and influence a spent strategy with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the wider supply chain, guarantee supply security and optimise inventory through effective KPI measurement with the objective of driving continuous improvement short, medium and long term.
- Help define and implement best in class procurement policy, processes and procedures.
- Ensure effective supplier evaluation, onboarding and compliance to business policy.
- Help develop the Procurement team.

**What We Are Looking For**:
The Senior Buyer will ideally have experience in a similar role. This position would ideally suit someone who is currently in a buying role or with the ambition to develop their career in a fast-paced subsidiary of a FTSE 100 plc. Ideally, they will have the following personal attributes:

- Ability to work comfortably and relatively autonomously within a fast paced, challenging, contract manufacturing environment.
- MCIPS Qualified or working towards.
- Proven influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Record of managing and developing category spend.
- Dynamic, engaging, relationship builder.
- Customer focussed with a desire to exceed customer expectations.
- A background within fast - paced Manufacturing, Food or Healthcare industries.

**Working hours**:

- Monday to Thursday (8am-5pm) Friday (8am-1pm).

- Discretionary Bonus
