Medical Receptionist

**About the Role**:
Greensand Surgery recognises the benefit of good teamwork and are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join their busy team for 29 hours per week to work as follows:
- Monday 8.45 - 1pm
- Tuesday 8.45am - 1pm & 2pm - 6pm
- Wednesday 8..45am - 1pm & 2pm - 6pm
- Friday 8.45am - 1 & 2pm - 6pm
There’s more to our receptionist roles than answering the phone and making appointments. In this essential front-line role at the practice, you would be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Being part of an office rota
- Booking appointments for patients with the appropriate medical professional
- Dealing with general enquiries from patients and visitors
- Supporting colleagues to maintain an efficient and friendly atmosphere
- Administering the procedure for repeat prescriptions.
- Signpost patients to the correct service Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Read code data on System one
- Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient’s healthcare records
- Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested.

- A customer service professional with a kind and courteous manner.
- You will have experience of working face to face and on the telephone with customers.
- You have high levels of accuracy and understand the importance of getting information correct at all times.
- You are resilient in the face of difficult situations, offering support and understanding to our Patients.
- You will be used to a fast-paced environment with a varied task list and tight deadlines.
- You understand the importance of confidentiality and work efficiently with your colleagues to get the job done.
- Experience with SystmOne would be an advantage, however full training will be provided.
- Experience within primary care would be an advantage.
- Some flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional/alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

Greensand Surgery is a semi-rural, GMS, practice in mid-Bedfordshire with just over 10,000 patients.
We are a dynamic, hard-working team whose aim is to provide high quality patient centred care. The partnership is supportive and cohesive and we have a full complement of enthusiastic team members. We provide a comprehensive range of medical services for our patients as well as meeting targets for the New Contract. The practice consists of three partners and three salaried GPs, a dedicated nursing team, clinical pharmacist, and admin staff.
