**The opportunity**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Corporate Health and Safety Department Core Safety Advisory Team in a new post, working for the Deputy Director of Operational Management and Core Safety Advisory Services. The Senior Health and Safety Adviser will lead a team to support the University community, providing general health and safety advice and support, training and auditing, as well as managing our accident and incident system.

The Department has recently undergone a restructure, bringing in three new Deputy Directors, who will be critically reviewing the support available to the University, and this post is a vital component of that new structure managing the core safety advise.

This post is full time and open to a hybrid working pattern, although core days are Monday - Friday (no weekend working expected) and the office is based in central Edinburgh.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Competent health and safety adviser, having worked in a fast-paced environment, bringing a wide range of experiences in health and safety
- Experience of managing staff, including mentoring and objective setting
- Degree level in a relevant discipline or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge, with post-graduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent academic qualification. Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
