Our funeral services play an important role in local communities, extending beyond the immediate needs of arranging funeral services, and supporting the bereaved at a very emotional time in their life.

As a Burial Ground & Memorial Consultant, you’ll assist in the provision of a courteous, efficient and effective service to all clients and visitors. This is a part-time role of 20 hours per week, to be worked over 2.5 days per week - Wednesday/Thursday/Friday). Please note, you will also be required to take part in Saturday working on a rota basis.

**Key Responsibilities;**
- Deal with enquires from members of the public and clients, accurately processing all the necessary arrangements for all burials
- Operate the diary and administration systems ensuring the smooth operation of the Burial Ground
- Liaise with and assist funeral directors, clergy / officiants, the bereaved and members of the public and provide the highest possible standards of service
- Ensure all required documentation is completed and/or received in compliance with company rules, regulations and statutory legislation. Liaising with external agencies and authorities as required
- Ensure the identification of, storage of and final disposal of cremated remains within the burial ground are undertaken and documented appropriately
- Promote, advise and sell all forms of memorialisation and value added products and services
- Receive payments from clients and complete the administration of all financial documentation
- Be responsible for the security of petty cash, premises and company equipment
- Ensure the offices and surrounding areas are kept tidy and clean
- Be available to open and close the grounds and buildings out of hours on a rota basis if necessary or at appropriate times.
- Ensure the Book of Remembrance is turned daily as appropriate
- Be proactive in community activities to promote the Natural Burial Ground
- Clean all areas to ensure a professional standard is maintained

**Key Experience, Knowledge and Skills;**
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the bereaved in a sympathetic, compassionate and understanding manner
- Good communication skills with a confident and professional manner
- Excellent administration and skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer literate with sound working knowledge of Microsoft office and data entry systems
- Ability to work as part of a team and without direct supervision or immediate support, including during periods of lone working.
- Ability to build/promote links within the local community
- Ability to engage and sell memorials and other value added services and products
