Join a newly formed, and first-ever cybersecurity-focused development team for Vanguard Europe. This role will put you on the cutting edge of implementing a suite of tools to enable intelligent logon & fraud prevention capabilities for hundreds of thousands of clients across the UK & Europe.

**In this role you will**:

- Lead the technical implementation, product integrations, and operations of our authentication platforms in Europe, with an aim to minimise client friction while simultaneously maximising security.
- Provide expert level technical lead services (e.g. code reviews, solution design, systems integration, standards enforcement, documentation review, etc.) to the project team.
- Coach and mentor software engineers of varying experience levels, helping increase their skills and conceptual understanding of technical topics.
- Work closely with the product owner, business clients, and development team to provide key input on the product vision & roadmap.
- Own the system’s deployment and operations from the development, to test, and through to production environment.
- Collaborate closely with solution architects and peer technical leads as part of the technical solution design process.
- Identify and help implement continuous improvement of technical standards, methodologies, technologies, and processes.
- Stay up-to-date on cybersecurity best practices across the industry. Learn about the latest authentication & authorisation standards and how those intersect with the context of Vanguard’s security and client experience objectives.
- Communicate to stakeholders across various teams, with a focus on translating your technical knowledge to the impact it has on the business.
- Collaborate with global teams in Australia and the United States to share experiences, learnings, and best practices for our various enterprise authentication platforms.
- Participate in agile meetings aligned to the scrum framework: sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint review, backlog refinement, and so on.

**Qualifications we’re looking for**:

- Strong conceptual thinking skills, technical aptitude, creativity, and the ability to understand various contexts (e.g. business, market, industry, technical)
- Previous experience as a technical lead or senior software engineer, with a minimum of four years of hands-on experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline is a plus, but not strictly required.
- An expert handle on industry standards and best practices as it relates to development methodology, software architecture, design principles (e.g. SOLID), design patterns, automated testing strategies.
- A passion for coaching & training other software engineers with a diverse set of backgrounds.
- Familiarity with AWS-based software development (e.g. Aurora configuration, DynamoDB setup, ECS Fargate, CloudFormation, etc.) is required.
- Front end development experience with Angular preferred.
- Exemplary communication skills: the ability to bridge the gap between the technical and non-technical across various communication channels.
- A desire to continuously learn and develop oneself in both technical and non-technical skillsets.
