If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join our Transport and Countryside Service as a Transport Services Driver.
As a Transport Services Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of passengers, including children and vulnerable adults, to various locations within and outside of West Berkshire. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating a range of vehicles, such as minibuses and accessible transport, in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies
- Providing a friendly and professional service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their journey
- Assisting passengers with boarding and alighting, including those with mobility aids or additional needs
- Conducting vehicle checks and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements
- Maintaining accurate records of journeys, mileage, and passenger details
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A valid UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (minibus)
- Excellent driving skills and a good knowledge of local and national road networks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with passengers of all ages and backgrounds
- A responsible and reliable approach to work, demonstrating punctuality and adherence to schedules
- The flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required
