**We are looking for Health and Wellbeing Coach to work as part of an integrated care mental health team delivering IAPT Step 1 interventions, working alongside other professionals to support the mental health of the prison population.**

You will support people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery, building a professional relationship of trust in a non-judgmental manner with every client, as a basis for developing and enabling therapeutic relationships. This ranges from providing informal information, support, and signposting during reception; facilitating group activities and forums; to developing and training Peer Mentors and delivering service user engagement activities. You will work alongside the other staff in the mental health team to deliver high quality, mental health support during an individual’s time in prison and in onward planning for their release into the community.

**Rethink Mental Illness** work alongside Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) to deliver excellent quality, integrated mental health provision in HMP Lancaster Farms.

The team compromises a range of highly skilled professionals who work collaboratively to provide the highest quality of care for those with mental health needs within the prison and for Rethink Mental Illness employees, this is carried out between 0800 - 1600 Monday to Friday.

**What we are looking for**:

- Experience of working with people with mental health needs (both 1-1 and in groups) in a coaching and goal setting way.
- Experience of developing and co-ordinating projects and activities.
- Completed training or qualification relevant to the post, e.g. Train the trainer, recovery training, Peer Support Worker or Coaching.
- Working knowledge and understanding of mental health and ability to recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health.
- Experience of working in a recovery focused manner and delivering recovery education.
- Ability to support, coach and encourage people to influence, speak out and lead within their own communities including those from marginalised communities.
