Summary

The Pharmaceutical Applications Specialist will contribute to Pion's understanding of the pharmaceutical
market, customer satisfaction and business growth within the sector.

This opportunity will require the ability to effectively communicate with customers on a personal and
scientific level, determine their needs and generate positive outcomes. Previous experience in the
pharmaceutical industry is essential with a working knowledge of physicochemical drug properties and
formulation development a distinct advantage.

Essential Functions

1. Liaise with existing and potential customers to define scope of work and clarify testing/analysis
requirements for consultancy projects.
2. Implement and project manage experimental work.
3. Write/review reports, discuss outcomes, and agree next steps with customer.
4. Prepare relevant documentation to support Analytical Service operations; SOP, protocols,
controlled drugs, admin documentation (e.g., CDA, MSA), etc. Similarly, support audit procedures
and qualifications.
5. Assist in the development of new Analytical Service products. Generate Pharmaceutical
Application Notes and other marketing collateral.
6. Support in-house and external training courses, installations and demonstrations as required
7. Assist with research projects as required
8. Contribute to the safe operation of Pion Analytical laboratories
9. Join in on sales calls with customers to help understand customer needs, win business, and
ensure customer satisfaction
colleagues, and channel partners
11. Support Software and hardware department for Development projects
12. Represent the company at meetings with customers and at conferences as required.

Competencies
1. Excellent ability in both written and verbal communication. Comfortable with Scientific and
commercial interactions to a senior level. Well-developed report writing and presentation skills.

6. Ability to manage multiple priorities and switch gears easily.

Travel
The position is based in Forest Row and requires up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Job Requirements
1. Ability to travel up to 20%
2. Valid driver's license and passport
3. Ability to lift 25 kgs

Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Pharmacy (or Chemistry with equivalent
experience) required; advanced degree in similar area is a plus
2. Minimum 3 years work experience in the pharmaceutical industry needed
3. Knowledge of PhysChem Properties +/or Dissolution will be advantageous
4. Proficiency with MS Office
