We are looking for a Hospitality Assistant who takes pride in their work and thrives in a busy working environment. The venue has recently undergone a masterpiece renovation bringing it in to the 21st century, with the perfect balance of old meets new perfect for every event. A Hospitality Assistant who will work hard to give our guests an excellent and unforgettable experience and to play their part in keeping things safe and compliant.

As part of a team you will support the Operations Manager and Hospitality Manager in the day to day smooth running of all catering and hospitality provisions. This is a varied role where the hospitality assistant will be expected to run a customer facing cafe operation, amongst a myriad of other services such as buffet breakfasts, formal fine dine dinners, conference lunches, drinks and canape receptions.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Ability to learn tasks quickly and bring ideas to the team
- Support the Operations Managers and Hospitality manager with the daily operation of the events and functions.
- Experience of working in a similar role in a quality environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and ability to complete daily temperature records
- Ability to support and induct temporary staff brought in for larger functions.
- Ability to read and understand printed hospitality bookings to ensure accuracy of delivery.
- Ability to read and understand dietary and allergen requirements to ensure our guests receive the correct items and are kept safe
- Ability to perform manual tasks safely, quickly and to a high standard
- Physically fit and able to set up and clear food and beverages, both as a buffet style, and a plated, served offering
- Maintain stock and tidiness of common rooms and the Wardens lounge.
- Fine dining or other quality experience
- Be able to work in a high-pressure environment
- Be a responsible, dedicated team player with the ability to assist colleagues in order to deliver on our objectives
- Able to work alone and use initiative
- Knowledge of basic food preparation
- Knowledge of food safety, health and safety and allergens
- **LOVE **food, and love working in a team
- Positive attitude and a flexible approach
- A passion for exceptional service, training and development
- Well presented, organised, proactive and reliable

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week over 5 days on a rota basis. Predominantly Monday to Friday, however there will be some events at weekends.

Please note, there is no parking on site, however due to the city centre location there are excellent bus, cycle and rail routes plus park and ride facilities.
