Assistant Audiologist
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Audiology Service at Oxford University Hospitals as an Assistant Audiologist. This role supports the delivery of hearing assessment and rehabilitation services for adults, children and users of auditory implants. This is an excellent starting point for entry into the profession of Audiology which is a healthcare science discipline. Applications are invited from those with and without Audiology experience as full training will be provided.
You will be working as part of a close-knit team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of clinics. Responsibilities include stock management and equipment maintenance, as well as some patient-facing activity (both in person and by telephone), working under supervision.
You will be a self-starter with excellent organisational and communication skills and a passion for helping people. A flexible approach to work is essential and you will be a team-player.
OUH is one of the UK’s largest teaching hospital trusts. We provide a comprehensive adult audiology service including the fitting of routine and non-routine hearing aids, complex diagnostics, balance assessment and hearing therapy. The adult audiology service sits alongside a busy paediatric audiology service which sees babies referred from the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme as well as preschool and older children. We also have an Auditory Implant Programme which includes cochlear implants and Bone Anchored Hearing Aids.
You would be joining a large team comprising Audiologists, Assistant Audiologists, Clinical Scientists, and administrative colleagues. We are actively involved in training and have colleagues on degree apprenticeship, PTP and STP programmes, with all staff having regular CPD opportunities.
You will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and may be required to travel to our clinic at the Horton Hospital in Banbury and other clinics across Oxfordshire.
Please see attached Job Description and Person Specification.
You are encouraged to get in touch for an informal discussion of the role.
